Day 250: Halloumi Fries

So we’ve tried just about every vegetable we can in fries form: sweet potato, celeriac, parsnips, standard potato wedges and now it’s the turn of cheese. This robust cheese lends itself perfectly to being chipped and fried and makes a perfect accompaniment to bean burgers or as a scrumptious snack, simply served with a dip.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x 225g block halloumi
  • 1 x tbsp plain flour
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder

Mix the flour with a good sprinkle of both the paprika and garlic. Slice the halloumi into wedges and coat in the flour mixture. Fry in olive oil until golden and crispy.

These fries are completely addictive – it was a total bun fight for them!
